The Cottages are located within the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS). Their website, https://rdos.bc.ca/ , provides a wealth of information directly from the Regional Government bodies in our area in the event of Evacuation Alerts and/or Evacuation Orders.
These alerts and orders are issued by government officials only when an ongoing threat or hazard to lives and property is considered imminent, based on existing surrounding geological conditions.
– The most common threats in our area are flooding and wildfires. –
During local Emergency Operations, their website provides the most up-to-date and accurate information about the “What”, the “Why”, the “Where”, and the “How Long” details of such Alerts and Orders as provided by the on-site Emergency Responders and government professional directly involved.
The Cottages Board of Directores also actively maintains our website, https://tcool.ca , as the latest updates come in from the appropriate local authorities. A variety of Cottage resident volunteers assist Emergency service providers in the event of Evacuation Orders to ensure community safety. Please show respect in following their directions, they’re there to help!
Another excellent website providing official updates regarding active emergency conditions in the Province of B.C. is https://emergencyinfobc.gov.bc.ca/. In addition, Drive BC https://drivebc.ca also provides Weather Alerts, Flood Watches, BC Wildlife Service Information, and Earthquakes Canada data.
